

I never knew that there were so many colours in this world (I found myself googling terms like perylene maroon and that just added to the feeling of the story as I read). Pan was able to weave those descriptions so intricately into the story makes it feel almost musical. She sees the world in colour, and one thing that set this book apart from page one was the description of feelings she uses colour to describe what she feels, and the way that Emily X.R. It's everything, just like life is, and it's beautiful. This is a book about grief, and about depression, and about memories and relationships and bravery. My eyes hurt from crying, and I'm so emotionally raw even after a night of sleep. This was one I wasn't sure I was going to pick up, but it suddenly started calling to me, and I am so glad that I decided to give in to that call.
